Approximately 5,000 children die daily from unsafe drinking water diseases

"The Problem" "The Victims" The "Solution"

A Global Crisis The AquaO3 Solution

The inability of both developed and developing nations to consistently deliver safe drinking water to their respective populations is a critically significant global problem that unnecessarily sickens and kills millions of people every year.

The human suffering and economic costs are staggering. In all countries, wealthy or impoverished, the lack of access to safe drinking water following a natural disaster creates substantial disaster relief issues, and continues to kill victims long after the onset of a particular disaster.

AquaO3 Corporation has developed a mobile water purification system product line that addresses both poverty reduction and disaster relief needs. A single system is capable of providing safe drinking water to a population of 90,000 people, at an affordable cost:

less than $0.01 per day per person.

The cost per person per day is $0.00620 to provide3 liters of safe drinking water (or an annual cost of $1.37 per person) – less than the cost of a single small Starbuck’s latte

The Human Toll

Poverty Reduction

Water-related diseases are a growing human tragedy, killing more than 2.2 million people each year. 3.3 billion people suffer annually from diseases linked to unsafe drinking water. 20% of the world’s population (roughly 1.1 billion people) lack access to safe drinking water.

2.2 million people in developing countries that die every year from diseases associated with lack of access to safe drinking water. 90% of them are children under age 5 - greater than the deaths from AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis combined.

Water is essential to the treatment of diseases, and is especially critical for children. 1.8 million children die annually from diarrhea.

60% of all infant mortality worldwide is linked to infectious and parasitic diseases, most of them water-related.

Half of the world's hospital beds are filled with people suffering from water related illnesses.

The past decade, the population affected by natural disasters has tripled to 2 billion. The United Nations reports 75 percent of the world's population live in areas that have been affected at least once by either an earthquake, a tropical cyclone, flooding or drought.

Our solution creates the immediate opportunity to significantly reduce the child mortality rate, impact poverty levels, and greatly improve the quality of life for millions of people in developing nations lacking access to a safe drinking water supply.

A single AquaO3 Safe Drinking Water System:

Produces 50 gallons of safe drinking water per minute.

Provides up to 90,000 people 3 liters of safe drinking water per day.

Is sustainable, replicable and scalable by local communities and national governments.

The Problem

The water problem is not confined to a particular region of the world. A third of the Earth’s population lives in “water stressed” countries and that number is expected to rise dramatically over the next two decades.

The crisis is most prevalent in developing countries, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Based on recent World Health Organization studies, about 30% of deaths in Asia are attributed to unsafe water.

Another significant deadly problem is “disaster relief”, where a natural disaster destroys or incapacitates the water treatment capabilities serving a large population.

Thus, the lack of safe drinking water is both a major global health crisis and one of the largest obstacles to progress and development in impoverished regions across the world.

Disaster Relief

Our Disaster Relief systems can serve as a source of safe drinking water until in-country water treatment plants are back on-line. In addition to providing advanced water purification and disinfection technologies, our systems can also process brackish water or sea water at a rate of 50 gallons per minute. AquaO3 systems can be rapidly deployed to eliminate the many logistical and operational issues associated with current disaster relief efforts to provide safe drinking water.
